    Senator Tina Smith Retweeted POLITICO

Moms need to work, Senators need to vote, and babies need to eat. Every workplace should be family-friendly, incl. US Senate. I’m glad we passed a (long overdue) measure so @SenDuckworth can bring baby Maile Pearl onto the Senate floor. It’s the 21st century, for goodness' sake.https://twitter.com/politico/status/986748770145710080 …

Has anyone actually tried asking the Senate to vote on whether it's the 21st century?

How will a baby disrupt order? Other countries allow nursing mothers to take their infants into parliament etc and they handle it fine.

it will cry and the rep will be busy with the baby instead of her work other countries have gone overboard nobody has the size gvnmt as the usa you should know how many babies you can handle at one sitting this is just dumb

If the baby cries she will handle it either by feeding it, giving her a paci or taking her off the floor to change her. It’s not that hard and this wasn’t her first child either. Do you think that Illinois should lose their representation because she had a baby?

yes either get a grandma or do your job just the thought you would bring your baby into any office seems not in the best interest of the baby besides in europe both parents get 6 weeks off and you do not have your weeks together if smart that is what you need

Tony we agree that your picture is photoshopped, but I was just pointing out that it is really poorly done and only someone with poor eyesight or poor reasoning skills would fail to see that. Wait...did you think it was real?

If she doesn't have a plan made resign her seat. She is getting special treatment. Tired of it. All mothers breastfeed and take care of their kids.
