We can take commonsense steps to address gun violence while also protecting people’s rights. I’ve cosponsored legislation to prohibit high-capacity magazines—& supported several other reasonable gun safety measures—and have never received (nor would I accept) NRA contributions.https://twitter.com/startribune/status/978309354960183297 …

Limiting magazines size does nothing, when are you going to listen to people that know. You need to enforce the laws on the books, and see that they do work when they are enforced. Why do we In Minnesota, have week Senate leaders?

Taking common sense steps DOES protect my rights. The first words of the Second Amendment are "well-regulatied." Regulation is written into the Constitution on this issue!

Mary, "well regulated" in the historical context of the Bill of Rights does not mean regulated by the government - it meant in proper, functioning order.

And in the historical context, the Second Amendment was never intended to provide an individual right--only a right for those "well-regulated" militias.

Well, the Supreme Court would beg to differ. They've established in Heller and McDonald that the "militia" encompasses private citizens.

Regulation is Not written into the Constitution, because, the founding Fathers decides we would be a Republic, and not a democracy , where rights can be taken away by hysteria like that of the Anti gun movement. There are many militias in the US, so they should be limited?

The guy had a rifle because the Bill of Rights said an 18-year-old with no criminal record can have a rifle. And it was the police, and the school, and the FBI: those are the people that failed. Let’s just take a broader look & not just target the NRA.

There are a lot of things you can own. With the proper paperwork, and tax stamps. I own a Canon. I have a friend that owns two tanks. The paperwork can take a year to almost 2 years.
