When I travel around the state, the #1 economic issue that I hear about is the cost of health care—and a significant driver of that is the high price of prescription drugs. And that’s what I heard again today at

I heard from Nikki of Brooklyn Park, who is living with multiple sclerosis. At one point she couldn’t walk or drive, but Nikki joined me last Wednesday for my weekly Coffee with Tina and walked 32 miles over the course of her trip to our nation’s capital with her family.pic.twitter.com/PBSdS52Gtl

Nikki’s medication makes it possible for her to do things like visit Washington with her husband and two kids, but she struggles with affording the high prices. I also heard from cancer patients, educators, grassroots organizers, volunteers, researchers and professors today.pic.twitter.com/gKq4yX6FPG

I’m going to share the stories I heard today with my colleagues in Washington, and I’m going to keep fighting for legislation to bring drug prices down as a member of
@HELPCmteDems. These are bills like the very first one I introduced in the Senate.1 reply 8 retweets 15 likesShow this thread -
My bill would end a big pharma company tactic that keeps lower-priced generic drugs out of the hands of families and seniors. I want to thank Nikki, and Rachael, Monica, Paul, Marcia, Erin, Lynn, and Colin for taking part and for bravely sharing what you and your families have experienced. You inspire me to keep up the fight. https://www.facebook.com/USSenTinaSmith/posts/617259265287171 …pic.twitter.com/zbjtNGk1D5

Hi
@SenTinaSmith, recently started following you and like your level headed and simple approach to things. We could use more senators like you across the board, especially in California. Keep at it:)0 replies 0 retweets 1 likeThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
