Late last week, we passed a bipartisan two-year budget outline in Congress. While it isn’t perfect, it does a lot of good things for Minnesota and creates a framework that will hopefully prevent future Congressional budget emergencies.

It slashes several programs that help Minnesota families—for example, Medicare and Medicaid, home heating assistance for our seniors, food and nutrition support, and student loan forgiveness, while at the same time, sending the federal debt soaring.
