I was up early this morning to talk about what’s going on in Washington. Look, we have Republicans in charge of the House and the Senate, and the White House.

If a shutdown happens, it would be the first time that one party is in charge of everything and the government gets shut down. It's important to note that the only person who seems to want a shutdown is the President.pic.twitter.com/qSmkMEGJLD

It takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass. If all Republicans voted for it they still do not have 60. It takes Democrats to join in the vote to pass. You are actually lying to the people.

She just said the Republicans are in charge of the House, Senate, and White House. First time a shutdown would occur this way. Not untrue.

The inference was there and without the details behind it. She chose to leave out the whole story. The GOP is not in charge of everything. The Senate needs Democrats to pass. It's called a half truth and I call it a lie.

Having a majority doesn't mean GOP is in charge. That's a fallacy invented by the Democrats to put the blame on GOP

I see all the haters on here cyber-bullying a 2 week new Senator and then I start to hope for the collapse of society or a purge. Is it possible for some of you people to stop being assholes and maybe try being more helpful instead?

LOL @jsnalbers No one is attacking her personally. She has been elected to do a job. If she cant handle that responsibility, then she has no business being in DC. The fact that she has been in office for 2 weeks is irrelevant, she has been in politics for nearly 3 decades...

You're new, read the rules.. Republicans need 60 votes to pass budget, they have 51. That means 9 brave Dems will have to decide that keeping government funded is more important than non-citizens. Do your job!

Maybe unneeded increasing of an already too large military budget? For the "party of fiscal responsibility" you guys sure waste money a lot.

That would make sense if any of that was said by ANY democrat....but they havent said that... The ONLY reason they wont vote 'yes' is because they want support for illegal immigrants..but they agree w/ all else in bill

There's already a bipartisan compromise for DACA on the table that many on both sides signaled they would accept. No idea if Smith supports it, but I doubt Trump would let any type of compromise happen in the senate anyway 👀

Where on earth did she get the notion that @realDonaldTrump wants the shutdown? He wants our Military paid, at a crucial time I might add. Yeah, you're a liar Tina🙄 Take the #redpill, you'll never look at a #Minnesota #politician (both parties) the same again!pic.twitter.com/zzza5tveV6

And we all know unless we follow the Harry Reid way of running the Senate, Changing the rules as he sees fit, that there are not enough Republicans to pass a bill without a few America loving Democrats.
