Senator Frankin's shoes will be hard to fill & I understand your anger at what happened to him but HE did what he thought was best. Don't diminish his sacrifice for his constituents.

Let's all move forward together. And show a strong, unified DEM FORCE! Remember, we're
#StrongerTogether
-
Your comment leads me to suspect you don't realize the bitter betrayal many Democrat voters feel about the pressured Franken resignation or are simply choosing to dismiss their concerns. If Dems didn't have Franken's back in a suspect set up, how do you know they'll have yours?
-
I'm in Minnesota. I love Al Franken. I detest what was done to him. In any war, stupid (and even some malicious and self-serving) errors will be made, and champions will be lost. We're fighting actual fascism, and we can't afford to be distracted or disunited.
-
I'm from Minnesota as well, and I will vote for the one whom I discern to be the most qualified or to be the most sincere (hence, Franken won my vote). I've been an Independent all my adult life, and while mostly leaning Dem, I'll just step a little more cautiously in future.

Congratulations, I hope you’ll be as fierce an advocate for truth and justice as Senator Franken was.
-
@SenFranken leaves you tough shoes to fill as an advocate. You will be great. Best of luck dealing with the mess that D.C. is politically.

Good luck to you, but I'll be honest in saying if the Democrats didn't have Franken's back in the course of due process in a Democracy, how do we know they'll have ours? The question will always be there now.
-
Senator Franken had to be up front for Democrats in not embarrassing them before he could insist that they have his back.
-
He was up front. He apologized if anything he had done made anyone feel uncomfortable, and that he never intended harm. He unequivocally denied that he made untoward suggestions as were alleged in the anonymous allegations. Stone & his crew were behind any misrepresentations.
-
Thank you for saying it exactly as it is,
@ThayerBerlyn

I would have liked to have been excited to have an all female MN team in the Senate. But I’m not. Because I didn’t have any choice in it. I voted for a six year term for
@alfranken.@SenGillibrand and@SenateDems stole my vote by demanding his resignation. -
I will try my best to support
@SenTinaSmith, but this is a bitter moment for me and a lot of Al’s other constituents. I’ve no doubt you’ll do your best and be a capable Senator. But you’re not Al, and Al is who I wanted as my senator. -
Well, Al pinched a bunch of women's butts, which is ON HIM. Why are you casting your bitterness into the wind instead of directing it AT HIM, doing something he knew was wrong and would destabilize his seat if it came to light?
-
You are misrepresenting the allegations. I don’t find two of the anonymous allegations credible. One woman was outraged Al put his hand on her waist, which I think is a perfectly reasonable pose for a photo. Al has denied that he deliberately groped anyone and I believe him.
-
Gurl, no. Literally not what the accusations were. Also, there were eight so if two "weren't credible" that still leaves six, so how many women is he going to get away with being gross too before you'll stop throwing other women under the bus of men's gross actions?
