I fought to extend humanitarian protections for Liberians because these people are our neighbors, our families, and our friends. This is their home and they deserve the opportunity to become citizens.

I’m glad we stayed focused, community members made their voices heard, and we all kept up the fight because creating opportunities for citizenship is a historic step, and it’s what Liberians in Minnesota and America deserve.
It certainly is. I’m very proud to be a Minnesotan and have two hard-working senators representing our state.
