When I ask teachers about what keeps them up at night, they often tell me they worry about the mental health challenges many of their students face. That’s why I intro'd a bill to make sure students can access mental health services in schools. More here: https://www.facebook.com/USSenTinaSmith/posts/709115582768205 …

APPOINTED SENATOR - Government is not the solution to most problems in that the government sucks at every thing that they do. If the kids are stressed out it is because schools now teach the ideas of nut-job liberal thinking and they can't push back without fear of reprimand.

The left says: Voter ID laws are “racist” against black people. Translation: Black people are too stupid to figure out how to get identification.

The reason teachers worry about the mental health of their students is because they can no longer keeps them judeo Christian morals. When you kick God out of school is when the moral decline of America begin. If you want mental health for our students, put prayer and God back in

Kids can pray if they want to and God is everywhere, so what's the problem? If you want more, send your kids to a Christian private school. But don't subject my kids to your beliefs, or make me pay for it.

I did send my kids to a private Christian School. You are correct in saying kids can pray if they want to and God is everywhere. The problem is that the Bible is no longer allowed in a public school. Bible study and prayer groups must meet off school grounds. Creation not taught

It’s so helpful to have convenient access to trained mental health professionals in high schools. My son really benefited from the Mpls Public Schools in-school clinic.

Teachers need ability to identify and help at risk kids, those with ADD on 504 plans. Kids did not want to ask for help that makes them different. These kids need someone to look out for them like an in school mentor. School councelors failed my son, http://lifewithoutmychild.com/blog/i-will-never-know-why ….

That's mean. Until FERPA is changed so that information can't be used against students those services should be outside schools.

Students with mental illness such as ADD/ADHD need advocates because 504 plans do not work on their own. Many are intelligent but can not follow through and then they fail their career goals. You can help save a life. Please read about my son. http://lifewithoutmychild.com/blog/i-will-never-know-why …

@SenTinaSmith we had those services in school when I was a kid, how many times must we pass the same law? I'm in my mid 60's and see your party keeps repeating the same agenda in cycles and nothing changes. What do you have to loose @realDonaldTrump said. #WalkAway

I have asked many teachers this, none said it was this. 1) gov't regulation causes massive paperwork 2) making them take the parent role 3) lack of school discipline

Just what we need, more teachers not teaching and taking the parent/ parents out. Ya think we need more help, we already have a system to deal with it, and the schools would be the worst in helping.
