How interesting they all announced this right on the heels of the tax bill being signed. As if they were waiting. As if there was some quid pro quo, perhaps? We pass it, u bigwig benefactors promptly say thanks by giving us a big, fat PR pat on the back. Dispute that, Thom.

All part of them writing the bill in the first place, and continuing to depend on the ignorance and gullibility of American voters. Pass the corrupt bill, and then throw them something shiny. Only makes this whole thing more repugnant.
-
Alas, what you said.

Lol. 313,500 people receiving a measly $1000 bonus is the best you have? What a joke! Lets discuss the BILLIONS failed CEOs receive and the fact 1% now controls 40% of the wealth. And to he clear, Pelosi is also part if the problem.
-
Well yeah, those 300,000 people need to take their thousand bucks and STFU. And we’re supposed to let the idea that maybe the corporation we work for JUST MIGHT throw a couple extra bucks our way make up for the fact our government is robbing US to give to THEM.
-
Its time to put a pitchfork in it. Higher profits do NOT equate to increases in wages.
-
Interesting... profits dont lead to higher wages? Then what does?
-
Full and long-term employment. Corporations have had historic gains in profit over the last 10 years, wages have been stagnant for 30+ years. There’s no correlation. A robust middle class and full employment are the keys.
-
When demand is high and there are 10 open jobs for every 1 person seeking employment, you get wage increases. Strong union/worker representation is also important.
-
There are times when cutting taxes on corporations would help fuel economic growth, we are not living in those times.
-
it never worked. I remember the 80s & reagen. this is propaganda talking points 2 get what they want: essentially paying no taxes. decades of idiots *still* falling 4 their classic “trickle down economics” theory. but that’s based on the (liie) that corps *will* “trickle down”

No it’s called PR and it’s also a fraction of the windfall that CEO and shareholders will receive and a bonus isn’t permanent like the corporate tax cuts you voted for.
-
Also just in case you needed another reason to see these are designed to benefit shareholders and corporations instead of actual workers.https://twitter.com/econwonk/status/943839235064389632 …

But yet not announced an across the board increase in wages or definitive hiring plans. Huh?
#TaxScam -
There wont be! That claim is a farce. Wages are not driven by profits. They never have been.

But nice try we get it you are a millionaire like the rest of the people who will benefit most, so it is expected you would be out of touch.

It won’t come close to offsetting the increases we’ll all see in our health insurance rates after removal of the individual mandate. We will vote you out in 2020.
