Hi Republicans! Do you want to make sure immigrant & asylum seeking families show up in court? Good news: there's an option that isn't morally repugnant, is way cheaper, and works just as well: instead of putting them in cages, just give them lawyers. https://www.humanrightsfirst.org/sites/default/files/Immigration_Court_Appearances_Feb_2018.pdf … pic.twitter.com/MJTAdKPmmG

Problem with that is Trump already said these people are rapists, thieves, bottom-feeders, low lives and “not the best people”. Republicans want immigrants but not these type immigrants . They want wine and cheese immigrants

There are many issues in this debate. Asylum seekers should not be prosecuted, but represented for due process and not separated from their children. Illegal immigrants should be sent back. The system is being sabotaged and a crisis is being manufactured for political gain.

Good points and I agree but I can’t help to think we can do more to help those countries where illegals derive so they have less incentive. We have no problems getting involved in wars/battles so why not proactive uplifting of those countries? Less $ and help is long lasting

Once again, Tillis attempts to benefit from the Trump/GOP use of child abuse as a bargaining chip to motivate immigration reform. Disgusting of you, Mr. Tillis. Better to lay low on this issue until the concentration camps are closed.

#FloresSettlement law has control of the case. Where children are kept must meet child care licenses. Planning to put families with children on a military base WILL NOT CUT IT. What you are responsible for now is a human rights international law violation. UN_HRC needs to ivstg.

I spent the last few days talking to lawyers and advocates about how detained children will be reunited with their parents. What I learned: For some, it could take weeks, if not months or years. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/06/how-will-kids-find-parents-trump-executive-order-family-separation/563264/ …

Thom, how about leading and do something about uplifting these CA countries so their populations want to stay vs come here in first place? Way better than wall and incarceration!!! Do something positively that impacts this problem. You’d break law to migrate here too
