We should not be separating children migrants from their families. Congress can take action to provide better long-term certainty and consistency on this issue in a way that does not incentivize unauthorized border crossings. (1/3)

Our nation is long-overdue for commonsense immigration reform, particularly when it comes to providing a path to naturalization for DACA recipients and securing our borders. (2/3)

I believe we can strike the right balance between being compassionate—especially towards children who were brought here through no fault of their own—and also being smart by taking steps needed to prevent future illegal immigration. (3/3)

Thank you for making it clear where you stand on separating families, Senator Tillis. However, does this mean you will support S.3036? That is what is important. That is what will make a difference today.

Amen! @SenThomTillis & his colleagues can show @realDonaldTrump that we are not this! Or, under @GOP control, is this what we have become?!? Those are the only options. FIX THIS, Senator!!!

You can do all of that by signing the #KeepFamiliesTogether act while you work WITH Democrats to find a solution everyone might be happy with AND stop separating families NOW! Stop trying to force Americans to pay for a wall that the majority of Americans do not agree with!

Isn’t that what the Republican Party stands for? Less government intervention? Then stop intervening in families and stop forcing Americans to pay for a wall along the entire southern border of the country. That would be insanely expense and infeasible.

Meanwhile, everyone - democrats, republicans, independents - everyone, seems to agree that separating children from their families is wrong. There is no Godly reason migrant families can’t await a decision on their status TOGETHER.

Actually I am not surprised that GOP voters are on board! Like I said, everyone seems to agree that separating families at the border is wrong. But what does astound me that the GOP representatives who are supposed to reflect the will of the people are not *actively* on board. 1/

The WaPo article you shared refers to a bill that Sen. Joe Manchin signed. The #KeepFamilesTogether act has no GOP senate co-signers: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/3036/text …

I guess I’m still Pollyanna enough to be surprised by things 🤷‍♀️ I’ve written both @SenThomTillis and @SenatorBurr asking them to join the Democrats. W/strong support from their base on this, and their history of inaction against this administration...not holding my breath.
