For too long, members of Congress have abused their power and ignored the will of the American people. Term limits on members of Congress offer a solution to the brokenness we see in Washington, D.C. It is long past time for Congress to hold itself accountable.

Well about freaking time... next put in for a pay freeze even a pay cut for Congress and Senate. Oh how about including must get same health insurance as regular Americas.
-
How about Congress makes minimum wage? Do you want the same person that screws up your drive in order making important decisions for the nation? Their pay is reasonable compared to the private sector...if they work. A gridlocked Congress that accomplishes nothing is overpaid
-
They could probably care less about their pay. Most of them make their money from lobbyist who buy their votes. They probably make 10x more money then what their paychecks. I like your thought process though.

how about one six year term and two, two year terms...lets take it one step further...they pay for their own health care AAAAND no pension plans for life!!! It's time congress was treated the same and followed the same rules as ALL the rest of us Americans!!!
-
As soon as a Congressman gets elected the first thing they are thinking about is the next election in 2 years. The longer they are in Congress the more power they try to grab.

Almost total agreement... but if the Senate gets 12 years, the House should also have 12 years
#TermLimits -
Both get 6 years and I’m game
-
You have to give them time to learn how things work, Patrick, otherwise we have a Congress full of worse incompetence than we have now.

If you can’t learn a job in a month, you’re FIRED!

How about members of Congress also don’t get paid when the federal government is shut down?
-
How about they are required to stay in their DC offices w/no support, cleaning staff until it is resolved.
-
As long as it includes the president, I’m all for it.
-
For the president, no cleaning staff, no fast food delivery. And no cable

Are you planning on not running for a 3rd term?
-
Gotta be
-
He just got elected, he has 6 years left
-
I'm aware. I can also pretty much guarantee he will run for a 3rd term in 6 years, barring this complete sham of an attempt to amend the constitution passing.
-
It's not a sham attempt. It's legitimate. If the amendment does not pass, why wouldn't he run for another term?
-
If he doesn't think people should serve more than 2 terms in the Senate, why would he run for a 3rd? He should live his own "principles".
-
Now this is a dishonest question, u know the answer. People like yourself wouldn’t live by the same set of principles. This why until passed, I wouldn’t go anywhere
