We have a serious problem in this country with sexual harassment and assault – in Congress, in Hollywood, in business, in the military – everywhere.

I also believe the ethics committee should continue to investigate. He is entitled to the investigation. And their findings will be important to informing changes that are needed in Congress.

To that end, I am also signing on to Senator Gillibrand’s bill to reform the way Congress deals with complaints. Congress should be held to the highest standards. -SB

But you are OK with Trump and not calling on him to resign because.....because?
-
Every dem senator that called on Franken to resign has been long outspoken about how unfit Trump is for office. Given the new accusation today, it's 100% fair for the focus to be on calling for his resignation.
-
They have called Trump 'unfit' but not asked for resignation. Simple question: Why are the accusations against Trump and the affect they had on his victims worthy of this same outrage? Why, to this point, have they not called on Trump to resign?
-
I completely agree with you, I just think that given the very late breaking news of yet another accusation coming out against
@SenFranken, there is reason for him to be of focus at this moment. Trump should have never made it to the WH period. -
Emily, I know you are good person, but this is the Gaslighting done by Trump. So many accusers, taped confession and Senators won't ask Trump to resign. They fight him politically, call him unfit and protest. But 'resign'? Heavens no. Can't bring that up! Why??

Ok I’m sorry, but this is a glaring example of win the battle lose the war. Punishment is warranted, but losing one of the most prominent liberal voices is Dems suicide. I’m sorry but being the only party that has moral accountability is killing us.
-
This is why people think liberals are weak. We don’t stand up and fight for our people when they need help. Not at all excusing what the Senator did, but we can’t let the GOP claim the moral high ground when we know our party is in the right!
-
Exactly. The moral high ground is great for the short term, but when only one side is playing fair guess who loses the Long game.

You’re wrong on this, Senator. Let an ethics investigation occur. You are falling for a false equivalency.
#SupportAlFranken -
I normally agree and in this case have every reason to be biased (based on my own experiences) against any man accused but Al Franken deserves due process

Staunch supporter of you. You will lose that support if you don’t demand the same of Donald Trump.
@SenSherrodBrown -
What she said.
As your constituent, I beg you to push for DJT's resignation and an investigation into the allegations against him. Don't let us down.

.
@SenSherrodBrown, I do NOT want Franken to resign. What if someone accused you & it was a political or publicity set up? Wouldn't you want right for Ethics investigation? .@SenFranken Don't resign. You have right for Ethics investigation. -
I'm pissed at the Dem women calling for Franken's resignation. We must be able to recognize the diff between boorish, inappropriate and other more serious actions that meets harassment or abuse threshold. Not everything s/b career ending. All women w/b worse off if Franken leaves

Can you re-publish your statement on Trump’s sexual assaults, and why/when he should resign?

Such a fine line between taking the high road and letting your good faith be weaponized by the savvy hypocrites on the right:/ Hope this is the right call.
-
Exactly what is happening. Weaponization by GOP.
