In Alabama, 150,000 kids are depending on the Child Health Insurance Program. I look forward to supporting the Continuing Resolution, which includes a 6 year #CHIP reauthorization and would keep the government open and running to continue the work of the American people.

otherwise the state will have to start paying for health care for the kids, Alabama doesnt pay for anything if theres any way to squeeze the money out of DC.

Let's get that wall build and stop supporting illegals! That would free up a lot of money for #CHIP ...Spread that thought to your Dem-witted co-horts too!

$18 billion for a stupid wall?! What a waste of money! The Dems don't need your nonsensical ideas.

What about #DACA? We're paying attention to the #GOP, who will be responsible for the impending #TrumpShutdown. #GOP controls Congress & the White House. When the gov shuts down, it's on you and your party. Why fund #CHIP for only 6 years instead of 10?http://bit.ly/2DMwIyi

Under our Constitution, the authority of the Federal Government is enumerated. The is no mention of health care so it should be a State function. You should work toward returning healthcare to the States and individuals. If you don't, then you are untrue to your oath.

Alabama can't run education, what do you think they'd do with healthcare? Ridiculous.

Dear @SenShelby, how could both the #GOP and the #Dems let the #CHIP issue become a last minute brinksmanship Crisis. Why wasn't this addressed when the Tax Bill was passed or earlier? No wonder that the approval rating for All of Congress is so low. @GOPChairwoman @NPRinskeep

I’m all for CHIPs, it’s abuse I disagreed with. Please take 150,000 dollars per year and hire 2 people to monitor for fraud and abuse. That’s what is missing in any gov program.

Millions of Alabama residents were counting on having two Republican Senators as well until you and your establishment buddies in the Senate set out to destroy Roy Moore. Now all we have is a RINO and a democrat. Shame is on you Mr Shelby.
