    Jim Shaughnessy, one of America’s great rail photographers, has passed away. Here is an image he took in his hometown of Troy, NY, in 1952. His book “Essential Witness: Sixty Years of Railroad Photography” is tremendous.

    This is not about me. The Senate & the American people deserve to have a full vetting of the nominee, just like you asked for and Democrats gave you for Justice Kagan. Republicans should want to see these documents just as much as Democrats.

    When Justice Kagan, who had served in key positions in prior administrations much like Judge Kavanaugh, was nominated, our Republican colleagues demanded her entire paper history. We're asking that the same standard apply today.

    Chairman Grassley, as you will recall, I opposed Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the DC Circuit in 2006 because I believed he was a political operative not suited for the bench. Given what we have learned since that time, I still believe that today.

    Chuck Schumer’s mind is already made up on Kavanaugh, so why demand so many documents before the confirmation hearing? writes via

    53 years after the passage of the , our rights are under attack. In 2013, decided 5-4 to strip critical protections of Section 5 of the VRA. With the Kavanuagh nomination, even more Americans could be at risk of being disenfranchised.

    To save lives, LI’s cops, firefighters and EMTs use the T-band for radio communication. But unwise Fed law demands they move from T-Band radios to unproven and expensive new system. That's why I'm pushing a bill to protect this critical radio spectrum.
