There's a PG-13 version of Schindler's List. Kids ought to be required to watch it. It's not easy to watch, but that's the whole point.

I agree. There is also a TV miniseries out there called "Anne Frank: The Whole Story" with Ben Kingsley as Otto Frank. It's very tough to watch, but so necessary.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c25oZQrnXwc …

Lots of good documentaries out there, too. I also recommend "Denial." It's a courtroom drama mostly, but it's good.
-
Is that the court case of Deborah Lipstadt vs. David Irving? Irving is horrible human being.
-
Yes, it is.
-
The great thing is that David Irving walked away in major defeat.
-
I was introduced to his "work" while I was doing a paper for a class many years ago. If I recall correctly, he's also an HIV denier. In other words, the man has strange ideas.

Just my personal opinion, but I think Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List should be required viewing in high school.
-
My son was shown the movie in Middle School while they were being taught about the Holocaust.
-
That is great to hear. I hesitated to say early than high school only because of the movies R rating, but there’s likely a PG-13 version out there. Middle schoolers can handle it. Part of the point is it’s not easy to watch, nor should it be.
-
I did have to sign a slip stating that I gave my approval for him to watch it. I think it was 7th grade.
-
That makes sense to give parents a heads up. I imagine a lot of kids have a lot of questions after learning what took place. I make a point to watch the movie every few years. Remembering what happened is the first step in trying to prevent it from happening again.
-
True. My son did have some questions. We must remember. Too many deniers. Makes what’s happening everywhere today that much more sickening. There was a woman in France last week. Survivor in her 80’s. Stabbed to death by a young Nazi, maybe they called him alt-right, same thing.

This is terribly troubling and sad. We need to do a better job educating our children.

It's not fading from memories. Those who learned about it, remember it. It's the failure to teach about it that is the problem. And when we fail to teach about history, to reflect upon and learn from it, we are doomed to repeat it.

You know what would be a really ballsy thing to do is too to amass a group of politicians and apologize for America's participation in the slave trade! This is something that has not been done and people are constantly saying to get over it.

She often has the look of a deliriously happy robot. -
The Country Club Cabinet Corruptables See Comey book review from David Corn....Trump was intent on spinning what he was told, not getting any actual information.
