Before his death, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. led the fight to end housing discrimination. Though he did not live to see the Fair Housing Act become law in 1968—50 years ago today—he knew that the path to equality ran through desegregated and non-discriminatory housing policy.

The landmark agreement held so much promise, but the facts show how much work remains to be done: from health to education to access to good jobs, the painful legacy of housing discrimination remains a wrong that America must right.

The Fair Housing Act gives the Department of Housing and Urban Development the responsibility to address systemic bias in the housing market. #FairHousing

We must remember the sacrifices made to pass the #FairHousingAct and redouble our efforts to make the dream of fair housing a reality—and that means holding government accountable if they diverge from their historic mission.

Carson tried to undo this Pres Obama Regulation: “The new formula empowers voucher holders — who are disproportionately African-American — to afford housing in more affluent areas, which see more job opportunities, lower crime rates, and better schools."http://washingtonpress.com/2017/12/24/federal-judge-just-delivered-bad-news-trump-administration-christmas-eve/ …

🤨 The trump clan has embraced and engaged actively in housing discrimination for many decades. This is not coming full circle in human evolution. We took big steps backward when this clown came to town. 🤡#RESIST

In the last 15 years? Did YOY support the DNC when one of the departments said WHITE people need not apply? Did you say you didn't support someone Trump wanted to appoint because he was Christian or White? YOU discriminate. DONT lecture anyone on discrimination of anything u

You can't discriminate today because of color. You can, however, give housing loans to those who qualify with a down payment and secure employment. The mortgage crisis happened because they were making loans to people who could not afford them. Remember?

They dig threw our garbage and leave shopping carts on the side of the road. Abandoned houses are occupied by squatters that have more rights and protection than law abiding tax paying citizens. So thank you Chuck. This is why Trump is president 👍🏻🇺🇸

And yet the democratic party still thrives by the creation of protected classes & lawlessness. Because nothing says equality like pitting one social class against another to achieve a political goal. #Marxism101
