However, there are serious problems with @realDonaldTrump’s approach. 1st, his own @ATFHQ agency has warned that it does not have the authority to ban bump stocks. The only way to close this loophole permanently is through legislation. 2/

Rather than just draft memos,
@realDonaldTrump should call on Congress to pass@SenFeinstein’s bill to ban bump stocks. On far too many issues, this administration has been all talk & little action – we can’t afford that approach when it comes to curbing#gunviolence. 3/Show this thread -
2nd, the Fix NICS bill
@POTUS has tentatively endorsed barely scratches the surface of our problem & must be just the start of a legislative remedy that at a minimum fully strengthens & funds#backgroundchecks, closes loopholes, & keeps guns from ppl who shouldn’t have them. 4/Show this thread -
.
@HouseGOP combined the Fix NICS bill w/ the NRA’s top priority, concealed carry reciprocity, creating a bill which would be even worse than the status quo. I strongly urge@SenateGOP to avoid making the same mistake & instead work w/ Dems to pass real#gunsafety solutions. 5/5Show this thread

The only additional law I'm for is NO guns for people on Psychotropic drugs. The vast majority of shootings are from Dems on psychotropic drugs. No mass shootings from NRA members.

Maybe not an NRA member, but certainly under NRA influence.http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-florida-shooting-suspect-nra-grant-20180216-story.html …

That's not "under NRA influence". I have 2 kids that completed in trap shooting during high school. While the NRA may have given some skeet or shells, that is not "under the influence" of the NRA. No materials, no membership.

Did you read the article? It’s the NRA Foundation. The NRA Foundation is part of the NRA. Not sure why partisanship turns true statements into areas of interpretation.

3. Many groups/organizations/companies donate money for activities of their liking, that does not constitute influence.
-
Yes it does. If it didn't, they wouldn't do it.

What’s changed in our Country’s history about why kids are killing other kids? 1) Prayer has been removed from school 2) Antidepressants (known-35 school shooters on them) 3) Hollywood glorification 4) social media/Fake news- Those are your problems Chuck!!!!

You hit the nail on the head! The violence in our society is responsible for these shootings. It amazes me that people can’t see this. Instead of spending time with kids anymore, parents make the kid pop a pill and then send them to their room to play violent video games!
