For months my colleagues & I have been insistent that any budget agreement include key funding to reverse the spike in opioid deaths. This is a national emergency that’s taken the lives of far too many Americans.

Chuck I am horrified by these senseless dearth’s, I am also a chronic pain sufferers who needs opioids to move. To live a somewhat normal life w/some measure of quality. The hysteria about opioids has my pain mngr dr. in a panic. Last month he cut my dosage. To cover HIS butt
-
He actually said to me:”I think I can sell this dosage to the inspectors, but not that dosage”. Frankly the hysteria surrounding this so called epidemic is making MY LIFE a living hell. I have depended upon opioids for quality in life for nearly 20 yrs. Tell me, what R we to do?
-
Those of us who can’t live w/out the drugs? I am my husbands caregiver. If I can’t move, I can’t help him. The hyped up hysteria surrounding this drug is ruining any & all chance I had for leading a normal life. Why R legitimate patients w/no history of abuse being tossed
-
Tossed to the wayside to address the addiction of addicts? I believe this is a politically motivated issue. Yes, there R abusers, dr & pharmacy alike. Y can’t that issue be addressed w/out ruining the lives of those of us who simply cannot function, thus live, w/out opioids?
-
Before I was finally correctly diagnosed I spent close to twenty years being vilified by dr’s & hospitals.Called evthing from an addict to neurotic to a hypochondriac. 20 yrs of being looked at askance by friend & foe alike. The perfect example of the I Told U I Was Sick Headstone
-
It was a living hell of frustrated self doubt & desperation. Now I am facing this same hell again due to the politics of blaming the innocent for the crimes of the guilty. What about us Chuck? What about the patient who simply cannot survive w/out opioids? Suicide? It will rise.
-
Without access to opioids I can’t live Senator. What R we pain mngt patients going to do when our drs R afraid to prescribe the meds they know we cannot function w/out?Please tell me what wisdom U politicians have developed for us. I will wait right here for the miracle to arrive.

How very sad. I'm from W NY & am familiar w the Southern Tier. This is small-town America. Is unemployment a factor? Haven't been in that picturesque area in 50 yrs.

If the bug Pharm would quit promising money.... Dr’s would simply quit subscribing them. The health care system is big business and many Dr. (Basically) taking Bribes.
