Support full federal legalization of cannabis. Opioid use reduced in legal states
-
And tax revenue from legal marijuana could fund trestment and other services for opioid victims.
-
You drug addicts always support this crap?
-
Hi John, I'm not a drug addict. I'm a fellow American. I read a lot of your posts and can see that we have some different opinions, but I think if we met, we'd like each other anyway.

Well, I'VE never taken or gotten hooked on opioids, whatever those are. I don't see why the Government (ie., ME) has to pay for the fools who are. Personal responsibility...learn it, love it, live it. It is not Government's place to cherry pick what "crisis" it wants to fund.

Same here! Never did drugs and never will!

Agree Chuck that as a country we need to address the opioid crisis. Thx to Pres Trump for having the insight to addresss this. Curious why the Dems ignored this while they were in power!

Dems think the only solution to a problem is to spend more money! A better solution is to get tougher on the doctors that prescribe opioids w/o following up! What are the root cause(s) & focus on fixing those!

Always enjoy talking with Dems! When you don't agree with them, they resort to name calling! Have a great day!

If you take heroin out of the equation, the numbers are down. Crackdowns on legitimate uses of opiates increase the number of users of heroin. More crackdowns is not the answer. You're 5 times more likely to be addicted to sex than to opiates.

Do you realize how many people use opioids to control constant pain? They are paying a price for this. Doctors don't want to write the Rx and pharmacists don't want to fill it. These people who live with debilitating pain have some semblance of a normal life with opioids.
-
The number is extremely small. The drugs given by pharma are way to potent. If you legalized heroine and morphine those people would be far better off.
-
I beg to differ. I have metal holding my back together and need my pain meds to have a life. There are many of us but we stay quiet. People want to add us the drug addics list with illegal drugs.
-
Just because the government says a drug is illegal doesn't make the drug bad. Heroin and Morphine are far less addictive and far less dangerous then then the pills you take.
-
Really? Is this position taken from experience or just something you heard? I doubt those in need of their next fix would disagree about the issue of dependency. Those using opioids correctly for pain aren't the ones mixing Rx and street drugs and overdosing.
