I saw it on television three hands were raised in an audience of 200 CEOs when asked whether they were going to expand and reinvest all said no they were going to simply increase their companies value via stock buybacks

Interesting that this was not covered more and shown all over to counter this bill, but this is business 101, when corps have cash they either pay shareholder through dividends, or buy up existing shares.
-
It kinda slipped past without much of a nothing too it was so factual and shockingly truthful seemed to me it would and should have been plastered allllll over the news
-
I agree!! Dems missed a great talking point and good footage for commercials....

It was just so shocking to see it live as the CEOs actually admitted they were not going to expand their business but going to kiss the stockholders and build the value in their businesses i.e. keep the money
-
I had seen it as well. The 'trickle-down' myth was shown to be a lie. It was very brief, but powerful, & I hope it can be retrieved.

Having worked in CorpAmerica for more than 35 years, you are correct. They do not hire new people or give raises. They buy back stock--there are many who cannot even afford to contribute to 401K. What is most devious about this bill is it sets up the need to go after SS & Medicare.

Of course, this was always the plan. Big donors have big corporations. They got exactly what they paid for.
