If the Senate’s constitutional duty to advise and consent is just as important as the President’s right to nominate, as Leader McConnell also reminded us, why should a midterm election be any less important than a presidential election?

FIGHT THIS! Don't fight it with gentle words. GLOVES OFF! Don't appeal to their better instincts. They don't exist. Come on, Chuck, this is life or death for a lot of people. Do not seat a new justice while our president is under investigation, AND it's an election year!
-
That's fantastic Chuck, but imploring Trump and
@GOP to do the right thing is over. Obviously you're a leader of your party for a reason. Show us. Fight for us, like our future depends on it. Where is our Patrick Henry? - 1 more reply

Stop this. No one cares about these process arguments and even if they did, you'd lose anyway because McConnell doesn't care about them. Argue about the issues at stake and nothing else.
-
McConnell USES process and procedural tricks to get what HE wants. This is NOT a political or policy issue. It is a PROCEDURAL issue.
@SenateDems should be as ruthless, obstructionist of an SOB as McConnell is. That's the ONLY way to fight this. OBSTRUCT. NO. SHAME. -
How about let the GOP solve the debt ceiling crisis this September without any help from the Dems?
-
I want to fix this country not destroy and rebuild it so I cannot advocate for that.

The GOP (McConnell) is consistent on doing what it takes to win. Chuck, this is a street fight for the soul of America- there are no rules in a street fight -McConnell knows that -it's time you and the Dems fight the same way.
-
I want to agree, but I must say, there are times (and this is one of them) that I want Schumer to get mad, to show some emotion and let McConnell know exactly what he is going to face. I am tired of mambi pambi!!!
-
Agree. When one side tries to play by the rules and the other violates them WITH IMPUNITY, the side following the rules stands little chance. If the rule of a knife fight is you can only use knives, yet one side brings machine guns and are allowed to use them, guess what happens?

Dems must protect the McConnell Rule! No nominations until after the midterms! Do whatever it takes.
-
Dems must protect the rule of law. Subjects of investigation don't get to pick their own judge. Only tyrants do.

Dems need to unite and find a way to make them wait!! This is why we put you guys there! Fight like your lives depend upon it!
-
And that way, likely involves talking to Murkowski or Collins. Ds likely don’t control of this on their own.
-
That's fine, but we pay them to hold the line. Now they need to figure out how to do that. If they need to lead protests in the streets or in the White House, then that's what they need to do. It's time to think outside the box. Desperate times require desperate measures.
-
Crying in the streets has never once changed the rule of law.
-
Suffrage movement. MLK march on Washington. Vietnam War protests. Countless others. All led to change. Maybe not directly or instantly, but all were necessary to accomplish just will of the people for issue of importance at that time.
