This month we #CelebrateImmigrants and share our own stories. For me, that starts in Brooklyn where my whole block was first-, second-, & third-generation Italian, Irish and Jewish Americans. Our parents worked hard & they taught us to study hard in school.

Little has changed in Brooklyn, maybe the languages spoken, but parents are still working hard & encouraging their children to do even better. We have to remember that this #ImmigrantHeritageMonth. Our country has always welcomed immigrants. It’s who we are.

With all due respect sir....every damn D needs to go to the "jails" they are housing the immigrant children in!! You came off sounding like it wasn't your "job"to go and bring attention to this....you are JUST a legislator, and that's your only job??? Shame on all of you!!!

Chuck its not about keeping immigrants out. Its about immigrant law reform and coming into this country the way your family did. Legally.

As long as we’re not talking about illegal immigrants. Some politicians are trying to confuse us that illegal immigrants are the same as immigrants, who came to this country legally. You have been in this business long enough to know the difference. We need Immigration Reform!

Per usual you conflate legal and illegal immigration to make it seem like there is one side that does not want immigration. We have laws against illegal immigration, so are we supposed to ignore? Then define those who want to apple the law a bigot? Honesty would be refreshing.

Our country has always welcomed immigrants. Legal Immigrants that did correctly & lawfully, assimilated into the country & worked hard as you say. But our country should never welcome Illegal Immigrants that did so unlawfully & demand favorable treatment. No sir. Big difference.

I believe we should let in immigrants who are legally & correctly processing, I’m all for legal immigrants. That is their chance to improve.Yet willfull, unlawful illegal immigration, no. While the good Lord does forgive, I don’t believe he condones willful unlawfulness.

Yes, please refer again to previous tweet. I’m all for legal immigration & the correct, legal process. As working towards legality, while positive, I submit that if came to process illegally justice with amends/reparations need be served but no amnesty. If done, debt paid.

Hey Chuckles, the legal immigrants are welcome, however the illegals are not, they are stealing from the citizens of the country. It's time for term limits, and you're the perfect examples, Chuckles.

Do you recall back in the old days... how many snuck in illegally vs how many went thru Ellis Island and took the pledge? I love legal immigrants. Illegals are not immigrants, they're illegals. There's a big difference.

Except the Handouts Senator, it changed everything. The hard working tax paying legal citizens of this country, descendants of those Italian, Irish and Jewish immigrants are carrying the load. How about trying to work with this administration instead bashing them on a daily basis
