healthcare is not a function of government!

Healthcare is notoriously resistant to market solutions. If a corporation's chief goal is profit, ask yourself what that means in an arena where providers can ask anything they want, and you have to pay it, or die.http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/goldman-sachs-says-curing-diseases-may-not-be-economically-valid/ …
-
if government is already involved with healthcare and the prices are already way high. Ask yourself, how will more government intervention solve the problem?
-
Apparently the study Bernie is talking about already answered that... It'll save everybody money... Ask yourself how a host of companies whose primary motive is profit solves the problem.
-
gee, idk... if they're charging too much, people will find a cheaper provider. If they don't adapt to what the market is telling them - then they go under. That's what motivated by profit can do.
-
Gee, this medication is too expensive. Guess I'll look elsewhere. Oh wait they have a patent. Guess I'll wait 10 years until it expires, oh whoops I died.

My tax payer $$ will not be spent on nonAmerican citizen entitlements. Its a recipe for bankruptcy. The American people will stand up & stop submitting tax payments until the congress provides transparency into budget bills. Enough - it's over. No more passing unread budgets.
-
Trust me, your tax dollars are already going to healthcare. From people who go to the ER who don't have insurance. American, OR foreigners.
-
I'm not being foolish. This has been going on in the 32yrs I've been an RN. That's why we need universal/ single payer, healthcare.
-
Saw the same thing working as a research assistant in a hospital, where I saw how much procedures cost and insurance codes and all that good stuff. It came down to soaking public and private insurers for as much as possible to offset the self-pays

Yes! Different prices for different patients!!

I love Bernie but why you did not do it when Obama was the president@SenSanders???Why now???
-
Bernie has been trying to pass universal healthcare since 1991. Ask Obama & his fellow Dems why they could only pass a Republican plan (the ACA) with a Dem super-majority. Ask them why they didn't pass Medicare for All instead. I bet if they had, the Dems would be in control now

Bernie introduced his universal healthcare bill in 1991 (see his bill here https://www.congress.gov/bill/102nd-congress/house-bill/2530/text … ) That was 2 years before he started working on Bill's healthcare plan with Hillary. Bill's was NOT universal healthcare. It was like the ACA, but worse.

I have zero idea how people cannot understand the math behind this very true statement: AMERICANS ALREADY pay more than ANY COUNTRY ON THE PLANET for healthcare. We just call it “premiums” instead of taxes. And yet we have the absolute WORST healthcare system on the planet.
-
For some reason people equate social welfare to socialism and dismiss the entire argument before it begins. In my experience
