People working with Amazon, be it deliverymen or packagers work through harsh conditions for long hours for small wages without breaks and are monitored if they do in order to keep up with demand, and yet we are led to believe that Bezos earns his wealth.

Someone who works at the Fresno fullfillment center said there is no air conditioning in the warehouse, where most of the employees work! For the past 30 or so days, Fresno has had an average temperature of 103F degrees! Some days up to 107F degrees. Unconscionable!

Social is a dirty word in the US and fabric is always made in China or Vietnam or Bangladesh
-
Sometimes the fabric is also made in Mexico, which is where workers are making "Trump"-branded clothing products for the US. If they come to the US Trump puts them in cages.pic.twitter.com/ikdsboVmgB

This is one reason why unions are needed

This atrocity doesn't just happen at amazon there are numerous states in the union that have ZERO workplace accident protections. I am a victim of this. Work my ass of for a company and get tossed aside.

This country should never allow a company to be as large and market share consuming as Amazon; what happened to anti-trust enforcement!

Made my last Amazon purchase yesterday. Plan to shop local from now on. My husband owns a small Sunoco Service Station in
@CityofGreenbelt . He pays local folks a fair wage because he knows his employees as grandfathers, students, friends, and neighbors.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

The average person is becoming little more than an indentured servant between low pay and a high cost of living. We are not free and it wasn't the commies, the left or Islam that has taken our freedom, it was the unfettered greed of capitalism left go out of control.

I have personally witnessed warehouse injuries in the Amazon warehouse in Doncaster in England caused by fatigue and long hours. Whilst it's true the NHS can scrape up the mess it's not very nice to have to look at it.

To some degree, it's not
@amazon's fault. Corporations are amoral. They're machines built to make money. We have to have regulations that protect workers from corporate greed. -
Wow, nice apologism.
-
True, but anyone who counts on companies to be ethical is just being foolish. That's not what they're built for. Kudos to the companies who try to be good corporate citizens, but they're disadvantaging themselves. Our system creates Amazons.
-
You're right. Expecting companies to be ethical is idiotic. That's why NOT regulating them is idiotic. And it's why liberal free market laissez-faire economics is also idiotic. Capitalism MUST be regulated or it will lay waste to everything in its path.
