Those jobs will soon be lost to self driving trucks. Best fill them with older workers, not younger ones.

I don't know if this will turn out to be a good idea. Apprenticeship must be a minimum of 6 months driving with an experienced truck driver. Must include or be combined with minimum 2 montjs winter driving. Opinion

The govt can do its part by relaxing some regs just a tad. But the trucking industry itself is the primary reason there is a shortage.

Hmm. Many of us would like to know where you stand on the autonomous GPS truck driving program currently happening. That will add to the true unemployment in America. Another career gone do to technology that destroys jobs.

Not a good idea!And the reason is because today’s 18, 19, and 20 year-olds are like yesterdays 15, 16, 17-year-olds. Except now there’s Facebook Twitter Instagram etc. for these older children to be completely distracted while driving a 40ton. - 1 more reply
