Note that a lot of the cheaper-from-Canada prescription drugs were originally exported from the US to Canada. There's more here that needs to be fixed than just the price of prescriptions!

My son has no insurance went to ER given prescription $374 no alternative one for him! I could not find anyone from 211 that would help because it was not life threatening! His hearing was at risk with inner and outer ear infections in both ears! To say the least he suffered!

They are cheaper in EU countries because the majority of those countries have single payer healthcare systems. Those systems are allowed to negotiate drug prices. The closest thing we have is Medicaid and it's not allowed to negotiate prices by law.
