To help families recover faster, @FloridaDBPR has waived requirements for specialty licenses for the repair and installation of roofs. This means that general contractors can repair roofs, making it much quicker and easier for families to get their roofs repaired.

So am I reading this correctly with all of the scanners out already.. We have an elderly couple staying with us and the tarp was not put on correctly after the storms two days ago now in addition to the hurricane damage they have 2 inches of water in their condo and more damage

General contractor have to be licensed already, I believe he is stating that the state is waving the requirements only for specialty license for http://repairs.At least that is what I am reading

Has a general contractor in Florida, I can say with confidence that the roof repairs by a GC will be done per codes. Many time the GC who is the prime contractor has to correct work done my the roofing contractor. GC has a lot more to lose if work is not done correctly.

Just make sure that their worker's compensation insurance covers roofing.
