What about the governments own data breaches. You going to notify everyone? BTW, kids are on Snapchat, Instagram and other apps. Recent studies showed kids moved to other apps cause parents, granny are on Facebook. Other apps trace activity and sell ads too. Get em all?

As a Senator, in which people in your home state elected to represent THEM, instead of asking CEO of Facebook whether or not he support the bill you sponsored, shouldn't you be asking your constituents what THEY want?

OMG! "Friends" shared...photos shared...birthdays, party affiliation, likes/dislikes...ALL shared! Thank God it's not bank accounts/credit cards/Soc.Sec. #'s. Oh, wait, that's Equifax, Home Depot, Sears, Orbitz, Saks, Lord & Taylor, Delta, etc.

With all due respect @SenMarkey, GDPR will only make the GOOG and FB duopoly more powerful at the expense of European media owners, the opposite of what it was intended. By signing up for these platforms, users are opting in in exchange for their products.

When you open a Facebook account, you already consent to these things. Most Americans are aware that their data is being sold and traded. Those that don't know this are naive. The government should not be a nanny for citizens!

And Will this apply to our cell phone companies?
