Definitely hoping self-driving cars can halt drunk driving + also give the elderly + the blind much more independence (once the bugs are worked out). Shows great, great promise!

This was tragic. I have no beef with federal regs on testing AVs. Note, though, that it's impossible to test all scenarios that will arise. AVs will over time make our streets safer. A quick scan of cars will show you that many have already ceded control to an unintelligent car!
