We also have to take a safety course prior to applying. It is not a quick, easy process. I appreciate that.
In Massachusetts, anyone who wishes to purchase or own a gun must first apply for a license. To obtain this license, prospective gun owners must apply and interview *in-person* with their local chief of police or an authorized designee. We should do this everywhere.

I think this is the idea. The long wait makes it so the the impulsive can’t just buy a gun immediately. It’s similar to some subreddit’s policy on brand new accounts posting in those subreddits.

I know folks here in MA who have guns, even handguns, they had zero difficulties and no complaints. Our common-sense gun laws Ry Massachusetts has the lowest Firearms death rate in the country. And we still have plenty of gun stores.

I was dissuaded of getting a concealed carry permit in Mass. by an intelligent and seasoned chief who knew that I really didn't need one. I'm grateful to him.

Nope, not since Fall 2014 bc they passed the law that you only need to be 18 with an ID for pepper spray. Has to do with all the rapes and assaults down the North End that summer.

I don’t believe is with the 2nd amendment. I think someone who is unstable should be observed in a psychiatric facility. We can own a gun in Idaho if your 18 or older and we are safer than before. Everyone knows everyone else is packing so why would you pull a gun???
