Let’s end the research ban on the @CDCgov so our scientists can study the causes and prevention of gun violence. It is time we treat gun violence like the public-health emergency it is.

Let’s ban these military-style assault weapons like the AR-15, which are the guns of choice for those who seek to inflict mass casualties on civilians. These are weapons that belong in combat, not in our communities.

Let’s pass legislation that ensures there is a background check on ALL gun purchases.

Let’s close the gun show loophole, as well as the one that allows someone on the terrorist watch list to purchase a weapon.
