.@realDonaldTrump will soon speak in the wake of the #Parkland massacre. If he's at all serious about confronting the gun violence epidemic, he will take this opportunity to call for commonsense #gunsafety measures including universal background checks & an assault weapons ban.
Americans are living in fear that their community could be the next #Parkland. If Trump cannot muster the courage to call for measures that are supported by overwhelming majorities, he should know that Americans will hold him & everyone that holds hands with the NRA accountable.
States have the power to ban guns [outside the home] under the Heller decision. States can also ban sales of semiautomatic guns. States are failing their core obligation to ensure public safety.
