A $5 billion fine may appear large, but it amounts to a slap on the wrist in comparison to the revenue that Facebook rakes in.
Facebook does not have to admit any fault as a result of this settlement. It doesn’t have to limit the amount of data it collects. It still gets to move forward with its Libra cryptocurrency. This outcome is an insult to consumers.

Same injustice happens every day to parents of disabled kids. Public schools violate IDEA, but between settlements & a legal system designed to make parents fail, schools get away with it. Taxpayers pay for schools' legal fees; nothing for the parents. Parents & kids are victims.
These IDEA violations bring real harm to the kids & parents. Suicides, largely unchecked abuse in the public schools, over-medicated kids, ruined futures from lack of education. Public schools waste a great deal of taxpayer money treating disabled kids & parents as the enemy.
I left Facebook in 2016 and never looked back. I find my life much more normalized in actually speaking with people and not getting hung up on all the gossip crap. I stay in touch with those I want and family by phone and email. Delete your FB account you’ll feel better. #RESIST
