Anytime the government throws money at a "crisis" it ends up raising prices. Education and health care are two good examples. This will be no different. Local governments could fix a lot of this problem if they wanted to.

It's not a housing crisis. It's an education crisis. Educate the people, give them needed skills, and give them work. Nothing is unaffordable then.

It's definitely a housing crisis. I can't find a 1 bedroom apartment for less than $1000 a month in a crappy neighborhood. 5 years ago, the same apartments were $550 to $650.

Bravo! My bags are all packed, Ed. What's your address, 'cause I'm moving in until this passes.

What is "affordable". Your mere assertion doesn't establish that the market price is unfair. There is housing in the market and it is being freely bought and sold continuously. You want the government to skew the market in favor of buyers? This is just plain rent-seeking.

Big talk. But lately that's all it has been, talk. Actions speak louder than words, especially when dealing with politicians. My family and I have already lost our home because of unfair housing practices. As to
@SenWarren proposal, I'll believe it when I see it.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Houses should never be used as a commodity! They are a human necessity for families.Houses r shelters from the cold wind & rain for human family.Housing should be affordable! It should be 25-30% of earnings, not the entire month paychecks.Since the late 1990’s homes r overprice!
