The real national emergency is the political emergency President Trump created with his campaign promise to build a southern border wall. Declarations of national emergencies are for true national emergencies, like 9/11 or Hurricane Katrina, not for political cover.
Declaring a fake national emergency and spending unappropriated funds on a wall unconstitutionally usurps Congress’s power of the purse and is just the latest example of this President’s excessive overreach and misuse of executive power.

@AOC here is my opinion regarding section 4 (a) of the #GreenNewDeal- we need PUBLIC MONEY as in #theNeedAct (HR 2990 of 112th congress) not “public banks”. It’s how we are going to pay for it!!!!
