Right now, for any reason or for no reason at all, Donald Trump could launch a nuclear first strike and no one could stop him. No @POTUS should have that power. @RepTedLieu and I are reintroducing a bill to require Congressional authorization. Watch live: https://www.facebook.com/EdJMarkey pic.twitter.com/HNQJ15eFHC

How long have you cared about this? Just 2 years maybe? In any event, the Constitution says the President is the Commander in Chief. If you're worried, then you run and get elected.

The most urgent order of business in Congress is to pass laws stipulating no president can start nuclear war on her/his own. Vote yes on S 200, the Restricting First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act and HR 669 Restricting First Use of Nuclear Weapons Act.

not urgent when POTUS was bombing Libya and kickstarting genocide and ethnic cleansing in Syria. Very urgent when POTUS is winding down wars in Afghanistan and Syria. Makes sense in a Martian-logic kind of way.

Yes. Lets hamstring the @POTUS. That always works out well for you when the party in power switched back to you.
