We now have 5x as many workers in the #solar industry as we do in coal mining in America. In 2016 alone, we added as many jobs in the solar industry as EXIST in all of coal mining. Coal cannot compete against renewables in the free market.
The future is renewables.

Goodness knows we all LONG for the days when homes and businesses were heated with coal. Because soot is so good for us! Smokestacks are so cool too! Giving hope to coal is like telling the horse and buggy industry that automobiles are just a fad.

And what we should be doing is using that federal money to retrain coal miners so they can be in jobs with a future. I'm not against any coal miner & their families so let's help them into the 21st century for the benefit of them, their children & grandchildren

Yes! Most of my previous generation of family were miners in Appalachia others in the school system. Coal country needs infrastructure, esp. high-speed internet & money for their schools. Hillary had a plank for this.
