One thing I'm not sure people point out is that in California's climate, at least in southern CA, is such that cars last a REALLY long time. Boxy cars from the 80s & 90s, w/honest-to-god rubber bumpers, R everywhere. Nothing 2 do w/why ppl don't buy new cars.
This is an absurd and bad faith argument to kill fuel economy standards. Defect investigations have fallen to an all-time low.
