While we should always be mindful of First Amendment rights, the American flag signifies the founding principles that countless men and women have given their lives to preserve.

Adding a Constitutional amendment to protect this symbol of freedom and liberty is not an attack on another Constitutional amendment; rather, it is an affirmation of the unifying principles our nation stands for.

Yeah. Free speech is really important, but not if it really upsets people who feel really strongly about a piece of cloth.

It’s not just a piece of cloth! It stands for freedom and my son, brothers and countless of relatives, not to mention the many that have given all to defend our country.

I think anyone who desecrates our flag should serve time in prison. There are many in my family, including my father, who spent many years in the service of protecting our flag and fighting to keep us as a Nation free.
