Sen. Kevin Cramer Retweeted Senator John Thune

North Dakota farmers and families should not have to posthumously pay for being successful. The tax cuts were a good first step toward ending this unfair taxation, and I hope we finally abolish it.https://twitter.com/SenJohnThune/status/1089987390268231680 …

Although we made great progress during the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act negotiations, the death tax still remains an unfair tax that punishes hard-working families. Read more on my bill that would repeal this onerous tax once and for all. https://www.thune.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=press-releases&id=1A7AA395-2D0D-46C7-B33A-983B72211368 …

The estate only applies to people with an assets totaling over 11M. I don't know too many families here in ND that this would apply too. Stop lying & acting like this is a burden on most Americans.

This doesn’t affect most farm owners, but keep deluding yourself that you are representing ND.https://www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2019/01/28/top-gop-senators-propose-repealing-estate-tax-which-is-expected-be-paid-by-fewer-than-americans-year/?noredirect=on …

Translation: Good Republicans are born with spoons in their mouths. We can’t be taking that away. Where would any of us be without Mommy and Daddy’s money? That’s right, retail.

If you didn’t earn it yourself, inheritance is income. And it should be taxed. Moreover, it is a marginal tax—only income above a certain level (which I think is $22 million) is taxed. I think I could survive with a $22 million gift from my parents.

It’s always been your goal to make politics into a highly profitable business for you and your family. It sure would be terrible if your family would have to pay some of that unearned, I’ll gotten loot back someday.

Why are you focusing on a class of people who die with $10.6 million dollars? Can you honestly put this on a top 100 list of policies that need fixing?

The only reason Republicans was to repeal the death tax, not for farmer or families unless you are a millionaire farmer & family! It is something the very rich want, but if we get rid of it, where do you plan on getting the money to fill the gap of what that will cause!
