In 2001, President George W. Bush granted Temporary Protected Status to Salvadorans living here because it was the right thing to do. El Salvador was recovering from devastating earthquakes and these people couldn’t safely go back there.

This hasn’t been a partisan issue – it’s been a humanitarian issue. Regardless of who was in office, Democrat or Republican, this form of humanitarian relief was extended. That changed this week.

The Trump Administration has made the inhumane choice and ended TPS status for about 200,000 Salvadorans, ignoring the violence and instability that continues to plague El Salvador,

I’m disappointed, but not surprised, by this Administration’s decision. Since taking office, Trump has revoked TPS for nearly 250,000 people from Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Sudan.

We have to call these actions what they are: an attempt to remake the demographics of our country by cracking down on immigrants.

But they knew it was temporary so what is the outrage here? Come on Center Harris snap out of it. Why don't you work more on securing legal marijuana in California. 1 billion dollars per year worth of sales tax revenue.

Which part of the word
#temporary don't you understand? I'm all in favor of everyone trying to achieve the American dream but do it legally like the ones who have come before not be given a free pass just because you want to use them as a political toolThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

There is an Salvadoran restaurant close by, and if it's forced closing is imminent it is a crying shame bc that's a hard working family staying open 7 days a week to provide delicious food to all at a reasonable price.

here is the problem...temporary means temporary- and they are not legal in any way.send them back and have them come in legally. follow the law kamila, I know its hard for you to understand!... they don have and should not have rights that American citizen's have
-
They actually were legal, until the President revoked their legal status. They're not harming anyone: they're productive members of society that benefit our country in every way, and you want to tear these families apart. Disgusting.

You said it yourself, the word is temporary. This afforded time to get a plan in place to return home eventually. If they failed to do so, time to make some plans pronto.
