And, for nearly two decades now, Salvadorans with TPS have legally lived, worked and raised children - many of whom are citizens - in the United States.

This hasn’t been a partisan issue – it’s been a humanitarian issue. Regardless of who was in office, Democrat or Republican, this form of humanitarian relief was extended. That changed this week.

The Trump Administration has made the inhumane choice and ended TPS status for about 200,000 Salvadorans, ignoring the violence and instability that continues to plague El Salvador,

I’m disappointed, but not surprised, by this Administration’s decision. Since taking office, Trump has revoked TPS for nearly 250,000 people from Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Sudan.

We have to call these actions what they are: an attempt to remake the demographics of our country by cracking down on immigrants.

Incredible that Trump has lowered the bar so much that George W. Bush now appears to be the wise, elder statesman.

Where is he, tho?

Bush knows that keeping silent is better for his reputation than opening his mouth & reminding everyone.

That is a ignorant thing to say with all the good their foundation has done.

Like, what, 16, 17 years ago? TEMPORARY, you fool. Temporary. Like DACA. For crying out loud, learn what words mean.

When you are granted temporary status, you don't sit around and wait for deportation. You work, you educate yourself, you raise your family. And that's what they've done legally. They should be included in a pathway to citizenship. Some of them are more law abiding than Americans

Bottom line...decision should be made on a). the humanitarian value, AND b) whether these people on the whole are bringing value to the country. Sounds to me like they are and why wouldn't you want to accommodate that.

THANK YOU Ronald. Please do something, Ma'am, for all the folks here with protected status visas that Trump is trying to kick out. They are here legally, they contribute to the economy, to society, and what he is doing is cruel, inhuman and unconscionable.

@SenKamalaHarris Okay, we get it. You’re running for President. How about fighting for your own country’s side for once, you crazy globalist? -
Continuing coherent bipartisan humanitarian policy is hardly "globalist," you bitchy drama queen.
-
When it prioritizes immigrants from other countries over citizens that's exactly what it is.

These people identify [wrongly or not] as being 'Salvadorian Americans'. When back in El Salvador the gang problems + economic challenges will drive them back here by any means necessary. More time there, means more problems they will bring back with them. Pay now or Pay later.
