I agree that everyone deserves to live above poverty, but raising minimum wage isn't the answer. Please consider a #basicincome for all!

also, it shouldn't take 4-5 years to raise it that high - and even in 2-3 years $15 will be too low

I'm a liberal small business owner and I can say with 100% certainty that a $15 min wage would be a disaster in rural America.

Raising the fed min wage would be detrimental to the economy.

Not a women's issue. Do you really want to destroy all small business in America? 15 min wage would do just that and cripple larger biz.
-
I know you love to pick an issue from a hat and throw against the wall to see if it sticks but come on. I've never worked for a poor man.
-
And neither have your constituents

When the min. wage is increased to $15 per hour and the layoffs start, if 2/3 of the people laid off are women, you won't say it is sexist.

now they are on a different tax bracket, you are standing by 45* tax reform? I think you really need to deal with American living well

I agree with raising minimum wage, and support you 100% as a politician, but pidgeonholing this as a "woman's" issue may work against you.

Should be everybody's issue. Too many dead beat dads & women being the sole support of their kids

Putting a cap on rent would also help. Wages go up so does rent, food & everything else.

No...we need to get women out of minimum wage jobs. That's an education & cultural issue. There is so much wrong with this reasoning.
-
there will always be a need for workers in min wage jobs. these jobs need to pay enough to live.
-
Agreed. Not my pt tho. These workers do not need to be majority fem. & the FEDERAL min wage needs to be appropriate for the entire NATION.
-
but they are women. you're not making a point. the fed minimum wage should be a LIVABLE wage. $15/hr barely is.
-
Min wage workers are women as product of oppressive history. That's changing & needs to continue to. Livability of $15/hr is diff argument.
-
There are many regions in US that are not metro & need to continue supporting local econ. $15 is WAY more than livable in non metro areas.
-
A number like $15/hr as the lowest allowable wage for an entire nation of 320MM+ people needs to be supported by data. Period.
-
If you're not aware of how this number has been calculated, you haven't researched enough to have an opinion.
