There is no point living in a country that denies it's citizens medical care. Lives are being destroyed everyday and many live in constant fear of getting hurt and then having to be out on the streets.

The problem is that people DON'T live in nearly as much fear as they should. At 22, I had planned to live a real life. MS had other plans for me. The real sickness in this country is trying to profit off my misfortune.
-
Amen. MS robbed my daughter & still is, of her dreams. Without ACA she would be dead. They are NOT pro life.
-
My daughter has MS too. She is 24, I am terrified of what will happen when she is 26. Thank God we are able to cover her still. She can no longer drive, walks with a cane and works a non profit job making less than 30k How on earth will she pay for her insurance and meds?
-
A little advice; Make sure she is seeing an MS specialist. Gen Neuro's are great for diagnosing, but there are too many neuro disorders for them to keep current on all of it. Find the nearest charity hospital, and use every program the drug co's offer.
-
Hood advice and thank you. She is currently with a MS specialist. I need to start researching programs.

If ACA would have allowed the public option, especially Medicare option at any age, we would have been Medicare for all as a choice yesterday-that’s why GOP & even Dems backed by healthcare refused the public option? Dems must rally. Long past time to stop greed on human health.
-
Healthcare for all is not "leftist", it is just reasonable and humane. All developed countries have this. Let's make America developed, for once.
-
Absolutely!Consider all of the corporate socialism our taxes provide;bout time 4 our taxes 2 at least provide quality/affordable/accessible healthcare for Americans! Our #1 healthcare costs/#37 lower quality overall care globally r a disgrace/insult to the richest nation on earth
-
Yeah, I am so tired of hearing the socialism nonsense regarding universal healthcare. Look around the world. Every first world country provides a means for all citizens to access healthcare. Some of those countries are far to the right of our politics, some far to the left.

Makes no difference. They understand it is a critical component of society.

You know that pregnancy was considered a preexisting condition for some insurers.
-
Happened to me when my husband got a new job in 1989. I was at 6 weeks. Fortunately, I was able to go in Cobra from his old employer. We were outraged. Cobra wasn’t as expensive back then as it is now.

If there is anyone over the age of 16 that does not themselves have a pre-existing condition or know/love someone with a pre-existing condition, I would be shocked. These conditions cud be diabetes, cancer, lupus, arthritis, substance abuse, etc.
-
Pregnancy or having a C-section.
-
I honestly do not know anyone under the age of 16 that hasn't had a disease, disorder, broken bone, mental disease or substance abuse disorder. It is absolutely insane to think otherwise.
-
does the flu or severe vomiting or diarrhea count?
-
Yes, the flu is if you get it again, they can say they won't cover treatment. Same with diarrhea. If you saw someone about it & it comes back again they can not cover it as a preexisting condition. I was a nurse for dr's and had to fight to get ins to pay. HMOs are the worst.
