Senator Harris, this is a death match. FIGHT. FIGHT. FIGHT. Don't roll over. Mitch McConnell set the precedent. No vote until January 2019 when the new Congress is seated.

-
McConnel 's precedent was for a Presidential nomination not a confirmation
-
That's not true. Obama submitted a nomination. McConnell refused to confirm.
-
In a presidential election year, not midterms. Either way, Trump can just make a recess appointment.
-
Lol. "In a presidential election year" like that actually means anything. You're just making up reasons for why to not hold hearings for Obama's nomination, and picking any true fact as rationale

-
I'm not aware of any other president ever that has had their SCOTUS nomination obstructed for any reason. There have been presidents that nominated and had confirmed justices *after they lost their election* So take your fake excuses and shove it.
-
Dude relax. TRUMP will seat a justice who can serve 40 more years. After Ginsburg resigns or dies, TRUMP will appoint yet another conservative justice.
#scotus will be conservative for a generation.

What was true in 2016 is certainly true now I think. Election year means no new judges until after the election.
-
The election year is 2020
-
Senate plays integral role in selection process; logic of 2016 applies
-
The logic of 2016 is that Senate *is* the process. Majority can bring forward nominee for consideration or not. A D majority could certainly stall until next presidential election. Unfortunately…
-
You identify a power play and that wasn’t the reason given.
-
The Constitution is the reason. You’re right, the talking points used suggest waiting until midterms. But when have politicians been consistent with TPs? (answer: only when consistency serves their electoral interests)
-
Talking point? Mitch right after Scalia died: The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice.

Not shouldn't - WON'T! We need every Dem leader taking a stand and presenting a unifed front on this. No backing down!
