Senator John Hoeven’s Tweets

Looking forward to honoring at the White House again this year. The #Bison had a tremendous season winning their 8th FCS championship in an undefeated season. We’ve already been in touch with the WH and NDSU about honoring them in our nation’s capital.

We look forward to this bill being signed into law, & we will continue working on the future phases of our nation’s response to help stimulate the economy + ensure critical industries weather these challenges.

We appreciate the president’s efforts to resume trade talks w/ China. Our #farmers ultimately need access to foreign markets so we should move to approve USMCA & finalize a deal w/ Japan to increase pressure on China.

The U.S. can and should expand efforts to push back against this unprovoked Russian attack on Ukraine. We heard from President Zelenskyy today as he is showing real leadership & the people of Ukraine are doing a tremendous job as they continue to defend their nation.

As the leader of the Quds Forces, General Soleimani was a terrorist responsible for the deaths of many Americans, & was planning additional attacks on U.S. interests. Our brave U.S. servicemembers & intelligence officials have once again brought a terrorist to justice.

I don’t believe we need additional witnesses because we have the transcript of the call between President Trump and President Zelensky, President Zelensky said he did not feel he was being pressured and the military aid was provided without Ukraine conducting any investigations.

.@SenJudiciary has sent Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the full Senate, I believe she has the right judicial philosophy for North Dakota and our nation and I look forward to supporting her confirmation to the Supreme Court.

With the surge of illegal crossings at the border, CBP needs all available tools to do their job. SCOTUS blocking the end of Title 42 is a good step, but the Admin needs to enforce our laws instead of incentivizing illegal immigration. Border security is national security.

. has signed the CARES Act. Vital relief & assistance is on its way to families, health-care professionals, ag producers, small businesses, tribal communities + essential industries all impacted by COVID-19. Thank you .

🚨 Help is on the way. 🚨 President @realdonaldtrump just SIGNED the Coronavirus Aid, Relief & Economic Security Act into law. This is a rescue operation for the American people. ↓ Here's what it does ↓

The President acted to provide relief to Americans impacted by the pandemic. Given the stalemate in discussions on the next phase of COVID-19 relief, the President is using all options to provide support to the American people.

Today I opposed Dr. Yellen’s confirmation to be Secretary of the Treasury because she supports raising taxes and I don’t believe her policies are what’s best for North Dakota.

Instead of empowering American ingenuity to produce more oil and gas here where we have the best environmental stewardship, the Biden admin is looking to Iran and Venezuela. The Biden admin needs to change course & take the handcuffs off U.S. energy producers.

Last night we joined Border Patrol agents working the night shift & witnessed individuals illegally crossing the Rio Grande River to enter the U.S. We appreciate the work being done by CBP but the Biden admin. needs to work with us and do more to enforce our laws.

The House Democrats’ focus on impeachment has delayed important responsibilities, like passing the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, addressing our nation’s infrastructure needs and finding ways to work together to reduce prescription drug costs.

Introduced an amendment to send the Democrats’ tax & spend bill back to committee and prevent it from going into effect until inflation levels for groceries, gasoline, diesel, home heating oil, & housing all go below January 2021 levels.

President’s announcement that ISIS leader al-Baghdadi has been killed during US special forces op once again shows that our military is the best in the world. This is an important step in stopping the spread of terrorism & will make our world a safer place

I oppose the $3.5 trillion bill. It hurts our economic recovery, imposes higher taxes on farmers, ranchers, energy producers and other hardworking Americans, and hits consumers and workers with even higher inflation, which is already nearly 5.4 percent.

Free & fair elections are vital to our democracy & a hallmark of our nation. All legally cast ballots need to be counted w/ full transparency. Any disputes should be resolved by the Courts fairly & quickly so the American people can have confidence in the results of the election.

I attended every day of the impeachment trial and listened carefully. I don't know why someone posted a false image claiming otherwise. The image is wrong – I was at the hearing on Thursday.

The new U.S.-Japan trade agreement is welcome news for #NDag as it opens up the Japanese market & puts increased pressure on China to reach an agreement. Now, we need the House to pass #USMCA so we can provide additional certainty for our producers.

We condemn the violence at the U.S. Capitol and encourage respect for the rule of law. We are grateful to the Capitol Police and law enforcement for their dedication as they work to restore order.

Our trip to the border was to call attention to the problem: Biden admin. claims it’s securing the border but the numbers say otherwise. We’re facing not only a national security crisis, but a humanitarian crisis & now a drug crisis. POTUS must enforce the law, secure the border.

Congrats to Sen. Bob Dole on receiving Congressional Gold Medal today. During his 35 years in Congress & heroic service in WWII, Sen. Dole helped improve our nation & we are grateful for his service.

We need to get our debt and deficit under control, and spending reforms should be part of an agreement to raise the debt ceiling. The President needs to sit down with Speaker McCarthy and get this thing done.

The administration’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate on private employers is a clear violation of individual rights, and we appreciate SCOTUS agreeing with our argument that the mandate goes far beyond any authority granted by Congress.

Inflation is now at a 40-year high and being felt by every American family. The Biden admin needs to change course. A good start would be to increase domestic energy production & help ag producers combat the rising prices of producing food, fuel and fiber.

Spoke out against the Democrats’ tax and spend bill on the Senate floor this week. This bill is full of Green New Deal-style policies and won’t actually reduce inflation. Instead it will reduce economic output, reduce average wages, and eliminate full-time jobs.

Senate just passed #TaxReform to enable hardworking, middle-class Americans to keep more of their paycheck and at the same time lower rates for small businesses, including our farmers and ranchers, so we can grow our economy and create more jobs with higher wages.

Border security is national security. The Biden admin’s refusal to enforce our laws is incentivizing illegal immigration and creating a human and drug trafficking crisis at the southern border. Joined & my colleagues in intro’ing border security legislation.

Great news for agriculture: Congress approved the add. $1.5 billion in disaster aid I secured for our farmers & ranchers, as well as provisions to ensure our sugar producers were included + coverage for quality losses. Given challenges in farm country, this is vital assistance.

We can and should fund the government and secure our borders. I voted to proceed to House-passed CR with $5.7b for border security & disaster assist funds. It is only reasonable that we pass our approps bills, keep the gov open and provide funding for the wall & border security.

The Green New Deal would cost trillions in taxpayer dollars and bankrupt our country. At the same time, it calls for eliminating traditional energy sources that provide good-paying jobs and affordable energy for our homes, businesses and the economy.

The Biden admin wants electricity for EVs but they’re taking out low cost and dependable coal-fired baseload power. We need to return to a common-sense approach and produce baseload energy for our nation like we do right here in North Dakota.

As a member of the Senate Defense Approps committee, we need a full accountability of the U.S. military equipment remaining in Afghanistan and an explanation of why the administration did not have a better plan in place for the withdrawal of U.S. forces and personnel.

Senator Rubio led Senate colleagues in sending a letter to @SecDef demanding a full account of U.S. military equipment left behind in #Afghanistan, which has already or risks falling into the hands of the Taliban and their terrorist allies. Read more 👇 rubio.senate.gov/public/index.c
