Tonight, @SenSanders will hold a town hall about #MedicareForAll. A new program that would be a total Washington take over everyone’s #healthcare in #zerochoice America.

Socialized medicine like
#MedicareForAll has a track record of challenge and failure.Show this thread -
A few weeks ago, the UK National Health Service (which has a
#MedicareForAll like system) had to cancel 50k surgeries because of overcrowding and claims that patients were being treated in “third world conditions”http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/socialized-medicine-update-britain-cancels-50000-surgeries-as-nhs-hospitals-face-winter-crisis/article/2644827 …Show this thread -
And in Canada under its
#SinglePayer system, Canadian doctor@docdanielle noted year-long wait times for carehttp://bit.ly/2y3DMCwShow this thread -
Remember when President Obama promised that if people liked their insurance they could keep their insurance? Millions of Americans found out that wasn’t true, let’s not dupe the American people again.

The Sanders plan would get rid of the
#MedicareAdvantage plans that more than 17 million seniors have today.#AARPShow this thread

John if I fracture my skull and damage my brain here in Australia I go to the ER and pay nothing. If this happens in America I’d end up being a Republican Senator

with my (single payer) medicaid insurance, I'm free to see any provider I CHOOSE. with fragmented, inefficient private insurance, patients are forced into narrow provider networks. do you have any actual clue what you're talking about?

Ask any country with universal healthcare if they would trade it for ours. No. They would not.
-
Suggesting we move to a US system of healthcare is political suicide in Canada. Despite the complaints you hear from those in the pocket of private healthcare companies, we have an excellent system here. And we do get to choose doctors and care. No bills. None.
-
It’s also political suicide in the UK, which is by no means a socialist country. Even Margaret Thatcher didn’t dare tamper with something so totemic that a section of the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony was a tribute to Britain’s National Health Service.

I just want to see a goddamn doctor John. I really don't care about shopping around for coverage. Also, everything you say here is bought and paid for by the health insurance industry and we know it.

The most popular change in healthcare coverage is when seniors migrate from private insurance to Medicare. Improving Medicare and letting EVERYONE be covered by it is common sense!

yeah, in exchange for not going bankrupt from medical bills, a system that’s wildly popular the world over

John, please tell me exactly what you mean by
#ZEROchoice? The choice is go to a hospital and get care. Why should need a choice of insurance in the first place? It should just happen.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

You don't have to worry, so you don't know what people go through. I and others I know have had their doctors make a referral only to have the insurance company turn them down. An insurance bureaucrat tells me I can't see a specialist? What sort of "choice" is that?
-
Insurance companies have no valid place in the discussion. They don't save us money, they just gatekeep to maximize their own profits.
