    I’m in solidarity with Fred Meyer and QFC workers with who are striking against unfair labor practices. Grocery store employees worked long hours to keep our country moving forward during the pandemic and should be fairly compensated!

    Today, I led a letter w and 37 colleagues urging the White House to safeguard NGO-led education activities in Afghanistan. Education is a stated priority of the U.S. and without these legal protections, our commitment to the Afghan people is under threat.

    The U.S. must show leadership in supporting global vaccine access and equity. Shots in arms around the world—especially in developing countries —is not only a humanitarian issue, it’s plain common sense. Vaccine access globally protects us from virus variants at home.

    Chairs welcome this action to sanction firms that aid in the repressive surveillance of Uyghurs, Tibetans & others. With passage of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, the US government is expanding the use of tools to go after those who commit & abet crimes against humanity.

    The Biden administration is imposing new sanctions on several Chinese biotech and surveillance companies for actions in Xinjiang province. It's the latest step against Beijing over human rights abuses of Uyghur Muslims in the country’s western region.
