Awe! I grew up with a desert tortoise for a pet! He was passed down through the family... his name was Gertrude and his brother was Peg Leg (he lost a leg to a lawnmower in like 1920) In 4th grade for my “how to” presentation I did “how to resuscitate a desert tortoise”
